Heyfield is a town in Victoria, Australia, with a population of around 2000 people. It is 206 kilometres (128 mi) east of Melbourne, in the Shire of Wellington local government area. Located on the Thomson River, Heyfield is a gateway to the Victorian High Country. We love going to Heyfield as a part of 4x4 camping trips into the High Country, but on Australia Day, we often spend the morning in the town of Heyfield to enjoy the BBQ breakfast and see the Australia Day awards being presented to the fantastic locals to do so many different things for their broader community.
